„Apostleship is something of a ceaseless nature” – testimony by Frederic Buttigier from France

Fredric Buttigier – a sportsman, an Olympian and an Apostle of the Divine Mercy, it is a short profile of man, who combines teaching of St. Sister Faustina with sports values.
Mr Buttigier started his testimony with 2001 when in the bookshop he came cross with St. Faustina’s “Diary”. He found it fascinating. Then he began to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and adore the image of Merciful Jesus. “I was captivated with the life of St. Sister Faustina and Jesus’ Mercy. And with St. Faustina – a Christ’s knight with candid look, matchless ethics and tremendous courage” – said the sportsman.
He stressed that we all can imitate St. Faustina’a life which was full of love and devotion to other people. He also emphasized that St.Faustina personifies, in the divine dimension, the motto of the Olympic Games: “faster, higher, stronger”.
„I think the apostleship is something of a ceaseless nature” – said Mr Buttigier. He started his way of an Apostle of the Divine Mercy in the prison – where he trained prisoners, distributed brochures and talked about God and His Mercy. To his surprise the prisoners showed a great respect to him.
He popularized the Divine Mercy also among sports people. When he suggested his colleague a prayer before the image of Merciful Jesus, the latter converted. “Jesus restored his faith” – Frederic stated. Finally, he appealed to all Christians to support establishing the official Feast of the Divine Mercy.
