„Kindle the Spark of the Divine Mercy” - Homily by Archbishop Stanisław Nowak

„Let us take the Image of Merciful Jesus into our hands, cuddle it in our he hearts and let us go into the world.
At his homily on the last day of the II World Divine Mercy Congress Archbishop Stanisław Nowak focused on the Image of the Redeemer from the vision of St. Sister Faustina. “The Image of Merciful Jesus with the caption »Jesus, I trust in You« shows us the way the mankind should follow until eternity. Let us take this Image into our hands, let us cuddle it in our hearts and let us go into the world” - said the Częstochowa Metropolitan.
„With this Image according to St. Faustina’s vision – in a mystical sense, and elaborated by Blessed John Paul II we go into the new millennium. We go with faith and hope. May this Jesus be a sign to us” – appealed the Archbishop.
„Let me congratulate to the Congress participants on their admiration for the mystery of Mercy which they certainly experienced” – addressed the worshippers congregated in the Divine Mercy Basilica. “May this Congress kindle the spark of Mercy, which – as John Paul used to say – was to come forth from Łagiewniki” – concluded the Metropolitan from Częstochowa.
The fifth day of the II Divine Mercy Congress also set the beginning of peregrinating the image of „Jesus, I trust in You” in the Cracow Archdiocese. This image, along with the relics of St. Sister Faustina and of Blessed John Paul II, to visit the parishes, was blessed by Pope Benedict XVI, and during the Eucharist to close the Congress it was brought before the altar by the representatives of the Cracow church.
