Antoni Zięba, PhD: A terrible war against unborn babies is still in progress

On the last day of the II World Apostolic Congress on Divine Mercy Antoni Zięba PhD, the Vice-President of the Polish Federation of Pro-Life Movement, talked about the world project of a prayer for life.

In his speech he presented the World Prayer for Life which is the prayer initiative of pro-life supporters. “Since 2007 this initiative has constantly developed” – emphasized doctor Antoni Zięba. He also stressed that in the 20th and 21st centuries about one milliard unborn babies were killed by abortion. “This terrible war against unborn babies is still in progress, lately bringing another 50 million victims every year” – said the speaker.

„Aware of the magnitude of guilt and the mightiness of the Divine Mercy, we do not fall into doubt, nor do we lose hope, but full of trust we call: Jesus I trust in You – said doctor Zięba. Then he presented the crusade programme to comprise appeasement of the Divine Mercy for the rejected gift of life, more respect for every man’s life since his birth till natural death, and imploring God for changing legislation to make it protect lives of all people.

The daily prayers are supposed to include one decade of Rosary and the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy. Doctor Antoni Zięba appealed to all people of good will to join this prayer deed. He also reminded that the crusade was the idea of Blessed John Paul II. “It is a great victory we won thanks to prayers” – he emphasized. Finally he expressed his gratitude to Cardinal Franciszek Macharski, stressing that without the latter no “Polish crusade” in defence of the unborn could be possible.
